I was interested in the answers to this as we have a similar problem which I solve by not putting the washer/dryer all the way back and putting a rubber mat - one of those commercial ones you see in the entry way of stores underneath them. It's rubber backed with a nap on the top - keeps everything in place and helps with the sound.

I have a small problem with the hose that connects my dryer vent to the hole in the wall. I'm using one of those cheap flexible hoses that look like a slinky covered in aluminum foil. The problem is that the hole in the wall is about an inch higher than the hole in the dryer. When I push the dryer toward the wall, instead of compacting to a nice even circle, the hose gets a kink in it and the opening is partially obstructed. This , I think, is
