It isn't hard. It's like sewing a dress from a pattern.
Far easier than knitting a sweater... It takes just
some time & care. He will enjoy the pride of doing it.
It was said that treating the metal is dif. I don't see
that. I can offer a recipe for bluing, but that can be
readily purchased. If he waits for it on order, that's
akin to awaiting a special car part for a vintage ride.
That is shop-talk for lunch at work. A piece of gutter
makes a bluing tank. (Save the chems for reuse.)
He can have it ready by spring and have fun with it,
or rush it through in a week, which,to me, makes it
work, instead of a hobby. It's like rushing a fishing
trip or golf. Skip the flintlock, I might suggest, unless
he's really into the history aspect. Sorta a pain to use.
He can make that, his next one, if he desires.
He may want to consider brewing beer & rootbeer.
Hey - It'll keep him home & off the streets. Now,
what does mommy want for Christmas? He has just
opened Pandora's wallet. Er... purse. LMAO!
Actually, none of these cost a lot. How about a
pressure cooker? I like the old Prestos. Gaskets
are easy to get. A small GreenHouse?$?$? <BWG!>
Happy Non-DeNominational HollyDaze-
& God Bless All...!
