That is unless they used a dead latch (double pin) style entry bolt and it is installed correctly. If it is a typical entry knob set, a locksmith would have no problem opening it. If it is a padlock, cut the hasp on the shed and replace it.

Try first using an old credit card to shim it. You slide the card in on top of the bolt, hold it down, and slide slightly in and out, to see if the lock is dead bolte. If not, the bolt will ride up over the card, and you can open the door.
