Typically the clue is a link with a non-sensible URL and a screwy, off
topic message, if any.
I posted a Yahoo news story about how a bug in a Yahoo Developers site
is being exploited in these links. If you click on them your Yahoo
password will be stolen and they will have the ability to email from
your account. You won't know about the emails unless your friends and
contacts in your online address book tell you about it. It seems they
use your online storage of your contacts to email to.
If you add abuse@yahoo.com to your contacts, Yahoo will get some heads
up of the exploit. Or you can choose to not use the online storage of
your contacts. If there is no online storage of your contacts, your
contacts won't get these emails, if you do get exploited.
The simple solution to fix this, if you do get compromised by this
exploit, is to change your Yahoo password.
