Reversing the wires in an ac motor will not reverse direction. Did it come with a control box, if not it is probably a shaded pole motor or internal start in which case you could not reverse it if you wanted to. If it had a control box with a start capacitor and start relay the motor would have three wires and a start winding much like the compressor on a refrig or ac.

Yes it came with instructions to a pressure switch but not to a plug in (like plugging into a extension cord). I'm just not for sure that it makes any difference which way the pump turns. Sorry I'm not as smart as you are that's why I'm asking.
