No you were right. A dc motor will usually reverse direction if you reverse the wires but not ac. except in cars and toys you seldom deal with dc motors.

Yes it came with instructions to a pressure switch but not to a plug in (like plugging into a extension cord). I'm just not for sure that it makes any difference which way the pump turns. Sorry I'm not as smart as you are that's why I'm asking.
