I have Home Depot's guide to plumbing. And Black and Deckers guide to electric. 

I'm sure there are better, but both are pretty decent in my opinion.

As a gift for a new young homeowner, can this group recommend the best DIY fixit book for normal kinds of household questions and problems that come up like running toilets, clogged drains, how to hang pictures, wiring lamps and switches, troubleshooting small and large appliance misbehavior, and the like? I depended heavily on (and still sometimes use) the old Readers Digest "Complete Do-It-Yourself Manual" from 1973, but there must be something newer. Suggestions?
