ah....yes it is...there are 6 breaker units for under $150..since
you do not connect directly to a utility it certainly is a DIY
project...I have done over 10 crossovers in my mountain
community...the KEY is one does not connect to the main
utility company house feed!!

This is not a DIY project.  You install the transfer switch between the metwer and the panel main as well as feed into the transfer switch with the generator.  Go to EBAY and you will see one ,often made by reliant, that is a small panel with 2 breakers.  You feed each breaker with one of the power sources (gen. or utility) and the output goes to the house panel.  Only 1 of the 2 breakers can be turned on at one time.
