I have successfully drilled and mounted plexiglass...starting with a 1/16" drill on slow
speed for pilot hole, then increasing by 2-3 steps to desired hole...I also then
cheated by using a soldering iron (pencil type) to simply melt a hole the desired
size!! LOL

Lexan I have seen cut by fireman's saw and it melted the joint back together; it is what is layered to make bullet-proof glass. $$ is (plexiglass price x2-x3?). Poly/ lexan is used in many plastic signs and you can bend in half without cracking. I have never seen it crack from drilling. Plexiglass will snap & shatter if bent too far
