In most all commercial applications, extension cords are forbidden " in place of permanent wiring" because of the fire risk, and fire inspector will make you disconnect immediately and write a citation, and reinspect for a permanent receptacle solution. Het/ fire, trip hazards, fraying/ shock hazard can all be risks. Surely, there is another receptacle you can use with a little rearranging?
