Thanks!! Good ideas!!!! (I actually have a very good mail carrier - don't faint!!) When I checked the mailbox, it was obviously leaking. There was a little puddle inside. Sigh ... I'll try backing up the screws and adding something to seal it better. I have lots of silicon products!!! THANK YOU ALL!!
