Re: [DIY] Lift Assist Hinges

Could we see a pic and/or description of the device and its door?  I am thinking of some sort of counter weight setup.

Any ideas or help with this please.  I need some sort of device that would make a heavy lid/top easier to lift.  The device would work in conjunction with existing hinges.  I've seen things such as assist hinges, self balancing hinges and gas springs.  The problem is that the torque value for these devices is well below what is needed for this application.  The highest I've seen (at least readily available) would be a value of about 300 pounds per square inch (and that's using 3 hinges).  I need something well above 1000.

Any ideas on products and where I can find them?  Thanks.
