[DIY] Re: Whole house water filters

 

In today's world of contaminants/ scandals, it might be a good idea to see if you can find a CERTIFIED Lab that can run a FULL PANEL of tests on the water, such as Lead, CHEMICALS, minerals and bacteria CULTURES. Then you can search for a water filter expert that can help, based on the Lab results.   Much better to find out now, than to find out 10-yrs from now that you should have done differently earlier.  

Guessing Lab could be $50-$500????  In the mean time, you might discuss with local filter companies what tests they do/ don't do, and/ or what results they (typically) see in your neighbors/ neighborhood.  You can also ask neighbors what tests they have had run (suspect/ expect few/ none?)

Just be skeptical of the filter salesman
