After two failed attempts to connect the new sensor to the existing sensor, I bought two new 3-ways and connected them as per directions. I guess each brand has a different method, because the way I hooked it up, I blew the new sensors. With two new sensors of the same brand and model, connected as they should be, it worked fine. Thanks for all your help.
