[DIY] Re: hardi backer or ? or cement board over wood floor for Ceramic Tile

 

Assuming your flooring is 3/4 in. making it sturdy enough to not have continous grout problems...We use a product called Ditra. It does come in 2 thicknesses and is a product by Shlueter(sp?). It is a orange waffle-looking rolled material. It is set with thinset and is an extremely sturdy option.
