Would you post a picture of the board so I can
see what it is please? I am an (advanced) electronics
research engineer and have designed dozens of circuit
boards mostly microchip'd/...
My control board for a unit failed and the best thing is'
to see if it is under warranty and swap it out if you
can convince the vendor tech you are competent to do that.
Next..just price out a replacement and buy a new one..
Unless the board is a simple circuit with an obvious
failure..such as a microfuse (A common board fault)
which can be checked carefully with a multimeter..
99% of today's circuit boards are at least double
layer and we in high tech do not repair boards..they
get swapped out and old ones get stripped down for their
gold someplace in Alaska or India...
Laptop and other motherboards may get repaired by high
tech micro gear in Taiwan or China..but most repairs
are centered around devices that are in sockets..
The day of going to Radio Shack (which does not sell
SMT capacitors and resistors (1/16 inch square!! LOL)
that you can barely get a soldering iron on..they are
wave soldered these days...is almost over except for
industrial control boards...you might have one of those..
so send that picture so I can tell you better.
