You can buy some Durham's Water Putty. It dries rock hard. I tried other things that I forgot their names. The others chipped out. I used it on my door that had a lock and latch that kept coming out. you have to work with it fast since it dries fast. Sand it down and then you can even drill through it. you can get it at hardware stores.

I thought I could take care of it myself by removing the bell system that was broken, which came with the door when I guess these units (condos) were built 35 years ago. I do have a bell that is run by remote on the side of the door to replace the bell I removed, but still I have a gaping hole in the front door (I covered it with tape on the inside so nobody can see through the hole from the outside), and would like to put a bell and viewer in its place, if possible. I realize a buyer would want a peephole, I don't blame him. But exactly how am I going to do this? Cindi

The company no longer makes that particular device. Also, even if I were to cover the hole with another device, I would have to work with wires and electricity and I don't know how to do that. Therefore, I probably want to put either tile over it or metal, but I need a good glue adherent that will make the tile or metal stick. Suggestions for the type of glue I need would be appreciated.f
