You may have a leak near the edge of the roof, which dumps inside a wall. This would still grow mold, and encourage pests.
You would be able to find this with an IR camera.
KrazyKyngeKorny (Krazy, not stupid)
I have not found any leaks or evidence of leaks. I lifted the dropped ceiling in the basement and checked every possible spot for leakage as well as the entire subfloor above me. Since I had it open I thought it a good idea to check all of it. No leaks, no visible mold, no mildew. Checked under all appliances and cabs, etc. no dead animals. The only other clue is that I see an occasional "gnat" flying through my home office which is located adjacent to the master bath. The master bath has no odor of mold, only in the living room which is about 18 feet away from the home office and bath. Also I have hot water heat so there are not any chases or vent work to analyze. And I do not see any leaks on the hot water heating pipes. I also have a new water meter that will show if there is a leak in the house, and it does not reflect any leaks. I am baffled. Please help.
