RE: [DIY] Electrical troubles

Check first to see if you have both legs coming in.  Take off the cover to the circuit breaker box and measure the thick wires coming in.  Remember, DO NOT Touch anything with your fingers.   It could be a loose connection in the wires coming in.  If so, the electric company should be able to fix it without charge.

Subject: [DIY] Electrical troubles

I am having an issue where I am losing one leg of my power coming to my house. I think this because The circuits on one side of the box work, and the other side does not work. Also, if a 240 v appliance is ran, like the electric drier, the circuits that were not working, work, to a point. I am guessing this is caused by electricity being back fed in to the line that is not working. This is the second time it has done it in two days, and it does it during high winds. I am thinking it is a problem on the town side. Any thoughts? Should I start with the town checking out there end, or see if I can get an electrician out right away to check out the house.

Thanks,
Michael
