It could be a defective faucet. My son got a low end faucet from HD and it leaked the day after he installed it. He took it back and bought a better one and that took care of the problem. You should not have rust stains and an evident leak after one year.

Bath faucet is new from HD one year. Hubby installed it. As usual, just after any one year warranty Im seeing the hot handle seam at the sink has rust staining and evident leak. What went wrong here? Is it more than unsightly? Just bleach it? Seems there is a malfunction.
