Re: [DIY] Plastic garden hose threads

It is plastic.  And if I could only remove it from the reel assembly I might be able to fiddle with the threads enough to make it work.  But the only drawings I can find on line relate to an Ames unit and I do not have an Ames.

There is a note on the inlet that says for service pull tabs on outlet but I can't see anything that even hints to be a tab anywhere on the unit.

If I read the original post correctly, we are being asked about repairing a hose reel connector part.
My understanding is that it is a 90 degree elbo with fittings to attach the hose  on the reel to and a
short hose to go from the reel to the faucet.  Probably will be a manufacturer replacement part.

Is it metal. plastic,  or of garden hose material?

You can buy repair ends for garden hose at a hardware store. You cut off the old fitting, push the new end into the hose, and tighten the clamp that comes with the part. You can get several kinds of plastic ends, or several kinds of brass ends. I prefer the brass ones that secure with a hose clamp.

I have stripped the threads on the connector for my garden hose.  Is there any way to cut new ones?
If not is there a way to take this thing apart and buy a new connector?
