I don't see why you are painting the door.....Should that not be a decision
made by the new owner....Have you considered just putting a "sheen" on
the front door?....If you are going to repaint the front door, do not paint the
"edges", leave them stained.....The lack of a coat of paint will prevent
sticking at the edges and maintains door to jamb clearances.....A high
gloss oil paint should be used due to its washability.....(BTW, I just hate
to paint over stained wood.).......Pumps
