I always used Bono on my hardwoods, but you can also clean them with murphy's soap. If you want to re-do them without refinishing, clean them with 409, rinse well then apply one of the floor refinishers. I've done this twice and it does make a difference, fills in scratches etc - but the success lies in how well you clean & rinse the floor and how evenly you apply the refinisher. I use High Gloss Rejuvenate, but there are others, its for sealed hardwood floors. I occasionally used my Shark steamer on the hardwood floors, In fact I even use it here on these unfinished wood floors.
