Re: [DIY] winterizing house

I live near Yosemite, ca at 6000 feet

to winterize I turn water off at street, drain all house pipes
put 1/4 c antifreeze in all toilet tanks and bowls

also 2 tblspoon antifreeze in ALL j and p traps and dishwasher and washer

drain all garden hoses

keep 1 electric heat at 33 deg F

procedure works great 20 years now...I go south to San Diego for 5 months in winter

BUT..this morning in san diego it is 30 deg F!! LOL my roses had to be covered..

climate change is real!!
