Look at Speed Queen. American made top loader like old style washers. It will fill with water and agitate to get clothes clean.

I kept our last Whirlpool washer going 15 or so years. With 6 people in the house and one in cloth diapers the washer gets a lot of use. With diapers, Wife washes them and then does a wash with no detergent to rinse the diapers to keep the little one from breaking out. So this is two wash cycles for each load of diapers. I thought the old Whirlpool was working fine as I had replaced most readily replaceable parts (clutch, water pump, agitator gears, time etc). Dear wife wanted a new washer and I wanted something that would last. Most washers we looked at, I felt would not last 5 to 6 years with our use. I think we will get at least 10 -15 years out of the Speed Queen or more with repairs as parts are available. The Speed Queen is pricey for an agitator top load, but I think it is worth it. I have been impressed with the sturdiness of the machine and have told dear wife to go get a speed queen dryer delivered as the current Kenmore needs a new drum seal and has been letting clothes get pinched which causes a stain.
