If it is wired in reverse, it is inside the plug box. The hot (probably black) goes on the brass screw and the white on the silver.
David here is a photo of the outlet before the logs were installed, it appears to be correct and I'm pretty sure the items we tested with have the plug with one side wider so can only be inserted one way. The only thing that didn't work with it was the blower unit. I have a tester I've been using in the rest of the house but can't get in to test this. It's not listed on the breaker box - that I can tell - so don't know if there are any other plugs on this same circuit.
