I'm sorry, you are all right. AND WRONG. It depends on each case by case situation.
Most window sellers include installation with the window price and sometimes a different
kind of window requires greater difficulty and cost for installation.
Further, no matter what anyone tells you... and you will know this if you buy bare windows
and tell them you are going to install yourself ( or hire someone else ) Window sizes in the
warehouse by the hundreds are cheaper than a special order to the factory for them to make
a custom size..... assuming we are discussing the exact same window. Often times
the custom window will have more features ( or maybe less ) than the stock window.
So they can make a custom window be the same price as a better stock window etc.
When you shop, try to get bare window prices first and later discuss installation costs
as separate supplements.
