Thanks, Laren. I see the Hotpoint models on the HD website. The 16.6 is $449. I'll take a look at it over the weekend.
If you need to buy a new one...
There is a 16.6ft³ self-defrosting fridge/freezer
combo that is rated "30% better than Energy Star"
It can be had for less than $500. I (and a few
others I know) have one, and are very pleased.
They use less than $20 in electricity, per year.
They are sold at HD and other places, with
both Hotpoint and GE tags. They are rated
(yellow tag) at using 326kWh/year, but the
yellow tags are based on setting in a 90°F
test box, so most will use significantly less
electricity. I use about 60% less.
