If the motor is bad, why can’t you take it to an electric motor shop and have them repair it? I am sure there is a shop near you that should be able to fix it. Have you opened it up to see if you can visually see anything wrong, like maybe a broken wire where the line enters?

After looking at the pictures I would think a good friend with a lathe and a touch of ingenuity could adapt the motor portion so that a 3/8 drill would work in its place.
