Much agreed. This group rarely sees any type of spam. There's no reason to jump up, pump your fists and go bat crap crazy when you see one spam message come through out of about a thousand. It's annoying but you simply delete it and move on. If you're going nuts over one spam message (and resending the spam link in the process of your response), then you probably need to get in control of your own life and actions and impulses before trying to dictate what a group or moderator needs to do.

I've caught a few that were just as you described and the steps you mention were taken. I however did not see the need for the ire that was expressed, especially since it came from a relatively new member to the group.
