Subject: Re: [DIY] Washer/dryer----Sears
For what it's worth, I wanted a diamond pendant for my daughter-in-law when she became a grandmother. Sears isn't the first place I'd shop for jewelry but was the only place in town I could find a pendant that said GrandMother. (Who knew jewelry shops didn't stock "family" jewelry?) It was expensive but I had shopped all day and was tired. They didn't even have a case for it so I came home, put in on a chain and tried it on. It looked more like inexpensive costume jewelry than what I'd paid for it so I returned it the next morning - only to find out Sears didn't give refunds. You could return it but only for credit on another purchase. I was not happy! Since it was more than I had intended to pay to start with, I ended up sending the credit slip, along with a letter of apology, to my DIL, suggesting maybe Sears on the west coast would have a better selection.
I can't speak to what Sears return policy is with anything else, but I wouldn't buy anything there again. DH doesn't even buy tools there anymore since the quality isn't what it used to be.
