Isn't it amazing how the pressures of competition can cause product improvements and bring costs down as well. The CFL will probably be around for a long time and the LED will also continue to improve and grow as well. LED is good especially in places where heat might be a problem and they draw so little power that they can be left on 24/7. We have 4 led's in the fixtures on our deck, and never bother to shut them off, they look good during the day and as evening comes on the deck begins to glow. Stair wells, shops, closets, storage areas, and side walks are other great places for the "always on" led.
