Re: [DIY] bath tub caulk

I would use bead backer, can be found at your local big box store in the masonry section it comes in several widths  to fill the gap then apply a bead of  color caulk  to fill the small depth and allow several days to cure before using the shower

Thanks, Ron.  I think that sounds good.  The tub is a fiber glass with the jets if that matters.

1/2" is WAY too much. But since you have that much of a gap, I would use grout.  You can actually color grout if you want to need to.

I'm not an expert on it, so if you plan to use it, make sure you find how to do it on the internet.  But hopefully someone has a solution that might be better.

Subject: [DIY] bath tub caulk

We had a new bath tub installed a few years ago.  The guy who installed the slate walls left a 1/2 inch gap between the slate and the tub. I'm having a hard time getting the caulk seal to hold and not leak.  Any ideas?
