change the water filter! get your manual or go online with the model # to find filter size and type. this is an easy diy project-the filter needs to be changed at least once a year, maybe more according to usage. filter should be available where you bought the refrigerator from

First thing I would check is the valve, where you press to get water. Probhably needs to be replaced.

We have a fairly new (year old) G.E. side by side refrigerator with water and ice maker.  All of a sudden the water part quit working.  The funny thing though, is the ice maker is still producing every day.  When you press the water lever, there is nothing, not even a sound,  like it's trying to get the water to flow.  There are no leaks anywhere.  Do you have any ideas what to do or what the problem may be?
