Yes, everyone including the plumber, says the same thing, impossible, they checked the main line - they disconnected the hose - ran it out. Got water flowing at 116+, turned it off and re-connected the line and started the DW — water in the tub almost cold. Both plumbers kept saying the same. It's impossible. The head plumber finally said it might be a bad element but still if the water in the connecting line is 116+ degrees, in the few seconds it takes to turn the water off, screw the hose in and turn the water back on — it couldn't cool down that fast - did double check we had hot water not just at the sink but in the line coming into the kitchen. It takes 219 minutes to run a small load of dishes and get the water hot enough to clean them - almost 4 hours to do a load of dishes. What still frustrates me is it worked perfectly the first three times I used it. Was the next week I noticed the detergent wasn't dissolving and started checking, that's when I found the water in the tub was just at 80 degrees. At the time we had had a problem with the hot water recirculator so I thought it was a plumbing problem.
If GE comes out and finds it is a problem with the plumbing, I have to pay a $75 service call, plus extra because we live half hour from town. The plumbers were here yesterday putting a new drain in the laundry room so I wanted to give them one more chance because if GE finds a plumbing problem, I'll be sending the bill to the plumber. If GE finds the DW itself is bad we'll probably all feel better, LOL.
