Re: [DIY] Dishwasher follow-up

Is there a way to verify the heating element is working?

Interesting point.  Do you have a cold water feed to the dishwasher?  Usually there is only one hose and it should be tied to hot.

Sounds to me like the machine is mixing cold water with the hot.

The plumber was out again yesterday, after continuing to tell me if there was hot water at the connection there had to be hot water in the DW.  He tested this and tested that, got 116+ in the hose between the connection and the DW — reconnected the hose and the water in the DW is just barely warm.  They discussed it, googled it, called their experts - it HAS to be hot - it just isn't.  We didn't solve anything but at least now they know I'm not imagining it :) Their final suggestion was to contact GE and request the dishwasher be replaced.  We'll see what GE says.

The only way I can get the dishes clean is to run a full, temp boost/sanitize/heated dry cycle, takes over 200 minutes to run a load of dishes.
