One of the things I love about this list is how much I learn - even if it's something that doesn't apply, I have the knowledge if I need it. Yesterday Mike mentioned the Split Heat Pump, a ductless system. I don't know if we'll use it, but it sure is an alternative I didn't know about 24 hrs ago and sounds like it might be a good compromise for our unusual situation. A couple hours on the internet and youTube and we have a fair idea of how they work and the installation process. Plus lots of pros and cons to think about from people who post online.
