Live upstairs, downstairs, build a tiny house next door? The back pain I developed the first week we moved in had evidently been developing for years and the exertion of moving was the final straw. Surgery is not an option. All our plans for the house and property are out the window, and we have to decide how best to go forward. If we make the upstairs our home, we have to install a stairlift, between $5 & $10K. The best option, I think, is finishing the downstairs as our main living area, and keep the upstairs for guests etc. It's also the most expensive. That's where the tiny house question comes in, should we spend the same amount and build a small one-bedroom home, and leave the barn as a barn/workshop.
The key word here is CLAUSTROPHOBIA......Pumps
