[DIY] Tile - to - Tile Transition on flooring between rooms? [2 Attachments]

[Attachment(s) from isabellanaultik@yahoo.com [DoIt_Yourself] included below]

Hi all,

We have ripped up our carpeting in one room, and plan on replacing with wood look tile.   After removing carpeting, we found this gap between one room, and the next.   It's about two inches deep.

Our house is slab on grade.   Do we need to leave this space or fill it with something loose to allow for expansion/contraction?  What's the best way to make the transition between  these two rooms?

Thanks in advance!
