Re: [DIY] Smell of sewer gases in bathroom

Check that all of the traps have water in them, shower, sink, stool.  when sinks and showers are not used the traps will dry out.  Next check to make sure the vent is not disconnected or clogged as with a bird nest.  If all plumbing is solid and connected and traps have water, then you  may have a vent that is disconnected inside a wall.  It is simply a methodical process of elimination.

One of our bathrooms has sewer gas smells often. Called the city but they say it is nothing they can do. Any suggestions or experiences with this problem?
