Re: [DIY] Tile - to - Tile Transition on flooring between rooms?

I would suggest filling the gap with Rockite quick-set bonding cement.  You can extend it by mixing 3:1 with 1 part sand sand.  I will probably take several 1 pound boxes but it will adhere to and bond across the gap.  Use as directed.
I have patched concrete, replaced missing stucco sections and cement corners with great and lasting results.  Here is a website you can use to check it out.  http://www.rockitecement.com/

Hi all,

We have ripped up our carpeting in one room, and plan on replacing with wood look tile.   After removing carpeting, we found this gap between one room, and the next.   It's about two inches deep.

Our house is slab on grade.   Do we need to leave this space or fill it with something loose to allow for expansion/contraction?  What's the best way to make the transition between  these two rooms?

Thanks in advance!
