The metal braided hose connecting the hot water line to the faucet broke off at one of my bathroom sinks. I shut off the input valve to the hot water and tested the cold water handle -- no problem.
My toddler daughter was getting excited and hit the hot water one WHILE the cold water was on. I heard the sound of water in the cabinet underneath. When I looked a little closer, it looked like the drainage was coming from underneath the unconnected handle.
I am guessing the hot/cold faucets have a cross valve for mixing hot and cold water, and this happens intentionally because of the valve opening between the two. However, I just wanted to double check here before I replaced the metal hose in case there's a bigger plumbing issue with the faucet.
Thanks!
