Also, regarding length, I don't have access to the pipe, it's sandwiched in the floorboards between the 1st and second story. There's about 18" of flex connecting the dryer to the inlet in the wall, then what looks to be a pretty straight shot under the floor to the exterior vent. So I'd say about 20' is a good estimate with my rough measurements.
These homes were built in 2001 and were done in a mass tract development (every 4th home in the neighborhood is this layout), so I would hope that they're up to code! Otherwise, we'll all sue the crap out of the developer. :)
