I did my own firebrick on my hanging fireplace a few years ago. I had
an old chop saw that I put a diamond blade on (from Harbor Freight) and
was able to cut the brick very well. All the angles etc where able to
be cut on the chop saw. One tip the brick people gave me was to use the
mortar very sparingly. They said to just butter the sides rather than
treat it as frosting. Fireplace turned out very well and we enjoy it
all year long since it hangs in our covered patio.
