Use a cleat along the wall, nail or screw the shelf to the cleat, then use
some small chain or cable from the outside edge of the shelf up to the
ceiling.

Subject: [DIY] Garage shelf
Im wanting to use scrap wood to put up shelf in garage organized area. I'm
gonna look for small brackets at HD but wondered if anyone had a sturdy
simple cheap idea on stabilizing a shelf to a wall. All I can think of is
making triangles. But not easy to nail into wall unless you do it at angle (
toe?).
