RE: [DIY] Higher octane gas for lawn equipment

Yes they can be mixed, that is how you get a midrange. As for the octane
rating I run high test in our mower, weed wacker, chainsaw, generator, and
motor cycles as the lower octane gas around here gums everything up at least
twice a year, and the repair shop recommended it and since I started doing
that I have not been back for gummed up equipment, also with the wackos
making just about every filling station put ethanol in the gas, it just
makes more sense to have a better controlled burn with the higher octane.
Down with ethanol!

My 2 stroke blower suggests 89 octane gas. Is there any reason a higher
octane gas will harm or disrupt a piece of lawn equipment? I was thinking
about getting the higher octane for a 2-cycle trimmer and an older 4-cycle
mower as well. Also, can different octanes be mixed?
