Re: [DIY] Pool shock

in my pool 24' ag a large bottle (1.75 gal) of bleach is like one of those packets of shock. it is cheaper a bit more inconvenient sometimes. ie lugging the bottles and disposing of them. works great though, just super shocked my pool with bleach to get out of chlorine lock.

if you do a search for BBB you will find a lot of information. its bleach,  borax and baking soda. bleach is used instead of trichlor tabs, borax for ph, and baking soda for alkalinity.
I no longer use algaecide, and clarifier only when I open the pool.

I know folks who use nothing but bleach in their hot tub, so it will work. It is cheaper, but monitor chlorine levels. Doug

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but here goes...
Does anyone know if you can use regular bleach to shock a pool, and if so
would it be cheaper?  Or should I just stick with pool shock?
