I called an exterminator and they said that removing the object and inspecting the area for signs of boring over the next few days. She said that if there are no signs of boring or other shavings (it was on a wood coffee table), then it's likely they stayed completely internal since it was a good food source for them.
We did this and also called the farm that sold the reindeer. They were, understandably, pretty horrified and apologetic. They outsourced those from another farm, so they said they will give us free stuff next holiday season and also warn the source farm.
