[DIY] Mudroom Custom bench

 

Finally decided that I wont find a bench for my needs. Its going to have a shelf for shoes. Now i need to know how best to make it sturdy and easy as a non carpenter. Free standing or attached to the wall with 2 legs at front to hold top seat. Tried to draw but I only have a vague idea not a good constuctive understanding. Pls offer ideas.
