I'm with you Bill! We used to run to answer the phone; some years ago I determined the phone is a convenience and I don't need to answer it if I don't want to. Only do so if expecting a call or if the spirit moves me. My house, my time, don't need unasked for interuptions from campaigners, political calls, surveys, on and on....
Many JUNK calls are soliciters for one good or not good (charity or whatever their personal gain is) - those callers, as soon as they launch into their speil, I just tell them to "please add our number to your DO NOT CALL LIST". In don't say "take us off your call list, as I read somewhere that you have to STATE "add to DO NOT call list" or they don't legally have to do it. Not that they all do. Helps somewhat. Then there are the auto dialers who you can't stop or interrupt - they and the policitals are the worst - they have no right to call me.
